Background

This article illustrate the basic workflow of Check -in ,Check-out and Update in OpenPlant Modeler.

This article involves two steps

Steps to Accomplish

Creation of i-model & Connect Workset to i-model created in i-model hub portal

  1. Open the Bentley Cloud Services homepage, sign-in with the required credentials and click on Projects tab.



  2. In the projects tab, click on Register a Project to register the project to use the iModel Manager service.



  3. Provide the necessary details in the fields and click on Register to create a project.



  4. Click on the created project and scroll down and go to i-Model Manager.



  5. In the iModelHub webpage that opens, click on Create i-Model.



  6. In the Create an i-Model dialog, provide a suitable name and description to the i-Model.



  7. Launch OpenPlant Project Administrator click on OpenPlant metric workset and from projects tab select associate.



  8. In project to associate window, select the project registered above and click on Associate and now a green helmet is displayed on the WorkSet once associated.






  9. Click on provision button and select the i-model we have created to provision all the schemas from the WorkSet. Once done click on Finish button.







    Check-in/Check-out Operation in OpenPlant Modeler

  10. Launch OpenPlant Modeler open a blank file and project will connect to PlantSight project. Place equipment and with a small pipeline routed (sample model).



  11. In the PlantSight tab above, click on Check-in all button to push whole model to PlantSight and in PS differences windows click on Check-in. Below image from PlantSight

    :To view below model in PlantSight, Open PlantSight Portal from PlantSight tab and click on Visualize and 3D Model.



  12. To check-out components from PlantSight, click on File Explorer expand unit and right click on Unit A and click on Check out, model will check out to active dgn.



    After Checkout components



  13. Click on Update all and it will push only changes which have been made after checked out components. Place a butterfly valve as shown below and click on Update all in PlantSight tab





    Notice the Globe valve has been updated here.
