In OpenPlant Modeler CONNECT Edition, To set different Inlet/outlet ratings for Relief Valves in OpenPlant Modeler.

Background

In OpenPlant Modeler, requirement is to show the inlet/outlet rating in properties & set the system to achieve the joint as per different rating in relief valve. Let’s understand this by the example, requirement is to achieve the relief valve with following conditions :
Inlet rating > 150 LB
Outlet rating > 300 LB
Inlet diameter > 100 mm
Outlet diameter > 150 mm
 By default, the application only shows the inlet rating as shown

This wiki article explains the same how to achieve the results as follows.

Steps to Accomplish

1. From the spec database of the required workspace/workset, open the required spec. For example, mEX-OPM & search for relief valve (VLVRELFL) data.
   
2. Create the new record & edit it as shown & save the record.
   
   
   
   
   
3. Launch OpenPlant Modeler CONNECT Edition with the same workspace/workset in which specs are edited.
   
   
   
   
4. From Piping > Piping Galleries > Valves, place a relief with rating 150300LB.
   
   
   As shown, the rating is shown in the required format.
   
   
5. Now, if we try to place a weldneck flange of 100 mm of 150 LB at inlet & 150 mm 300 LB at outlet it will show an error
   
   
   
   
6. To achieve the correct results, From File > Settings > Configurations, Open Configuration Variables dialogue to configure as shown below.
   
   
   
   
7. Search for the variable OPM_MATCH_PROPERTY_MAP_RATING. By default, it shows the following values.
   
   
   
   
8. Add New Values 150300LB;CL300|150300LB;CL150 as shown & Hit OK.
   
   
   
   
9. Click yes to save the changes as shown
   
   
   
   
10. Place the flanges according to step-5 & verify the results.
    
    
11. As shown the respective flange of size & rating are placed
