User Defined attributes (UDA) can be added in Bentley Raceway and Cable Management. Raceway UDAs can be displayed on element information or element properties. For UDAs to appear on Element Information they must be added to the schema. This article explains the steps to display the raceway UDA on the element information
1.Launch the application and open a Raceway DGN file.2. Route a raceway which has the UDA assigned. In this instance we route a raceway having Cover type as the UDA defined. To create a custom Raceway UDA you can refer this link.3. For displaying the UDA on element information, it must be added to the schema file available in the dataset. Go to C:\ProgramData\Bentley\BRCM CONNECT Edition\Configuration\Workspaces\BRCM Metric Example\Standards\BRCM\std_dataset\schemas and open Electrical_RCM_ProjectProperties.01.02.ecschema.xml schema file.4.In the Electrical_RCM_ProjectProperties.01.02.ecschema.xml file find the following line- <ECClass typeName="RACEWAY_ITEM" displayLabel="Raceway Item (BRCM)" isDomainClass="True" /> and change it to- <ECClass typeName="RACEWAY_ITEM" displayLabel="Raceway Item (BRCM)" isDomainClass="True">
5.Under the above line add the following line- <ECProperty propertyName="COVERTYPE" typeName="string" displayLabel="Cover Type" readOnly="True" /> </ECClass>
The resulting edit will be as displayed-
Note- The UDA name should be in Capital Letters and should contain any spaces. 6.Save the file and re-launch Bentley Raceway and Cable Management.
7. Route a new raceway with the corresponding UDA and the UDA will be displayed in the element information. Note- For the UDA values to be displayed for the raceway, which is already routed, select the raceway go to Raceway Properties. Select the UDA and Click Ok.
