Background:
While synchronization to PlantSight, sometimes we get an error and it is very difficult to identify which component is responsible for the problem. OPPID is now generating “OPPID_SYNC” log file at ...\Users\$User$\AppData\Roaming\Bentley\OpenPlantPID\Logs\ location. We also have “Component Selection” tool which is designed to assist in finding a specific component that was mentioned in an error message. The component can be searched and zoomed using the following options:
- Instance Id
- Persistent Element Path (PEP)
- GUID
- Element ID
Steps to Accomplish
- While working in OPPID, the following error may happen during the synchronization process.
- Errors can be seen in the message center.
- Also, we can browse to ...\Users\$User$\AppData\Roaming\Bentley\OpenPlantPID\Logs\ location and open the OPPID_synch log file.
- Here you can see the components which are faulty. Log file is suggesting that the tags of the virtual nozzle is already present in Plantsight.
- Copy the component Instance ID of virtual nozzle
- In OPPID, key-in “pid component select” to launch the “Component Selection Tool” dialog
- Paste the Instance Id of the faulty component, enable the Zoom check box and select the Zoom Factor.
- Finally press the Ok button. The program will zoom to the faulty component. In our case, this is the Nozzle Tag, hence it zooms in as below:
- Modify the tag of faulty component using PID Element properties.
- Similarly, you can rectify the issue of other faulty components.
- Finally run the Synchronization process again.
