Background

Many a times there is a requirement where the valve or inline components placed on Pipeline should reflect the same symbology or colour as that of Pipeline.This wiki will help you to achieve the desired result.

Steps to Accomplish

1. Launch Bentley Class Editor CE .
   
   
    
2. Bentley Class Editor can also be launched through OpenPlant Project Administrator CE.
   
   
   
   
3. In OpenPlant Project Administrator, Click on OpenPlant PID application for the required project in WorkSpace and click on Tools.
   After clicking on OpenPlant PID, in Tools→ Class Editor icon gets enabled as shown in image below.
   
   
   
   
4. Considering OpenPlant_ Metric : Open the OpenPlant_PID.01.08.ecshema.xml & supplement it with OpenPlant_PID_Supplemental_Design.01.08.ecshema.xml through below default std path. (OpenPlant_PID.01.08.ecshema: Std Path(C:\ProgramData\Bentley\OpenPlant CONNECT Edition\Configuration\Workspaces\WorkSpace\WorkSets\OpenPlantMetric\Standards\OpenPlant\Schemas)   
    
5. Considering Flange Connection e.g when it is placed on Steam Pipeline or Existing Pipeline than it should reflect the same symbology as that of Pipeline. So proceed to Schemas and click on Flange Connection.In Properties -select INHERIT_INRUN_TEMPLATE .And it can be seen that its faded.To make changes click on Override.
   
   
   
   Default Value is set as False.
      
6. As Override is done it can edited easily.Change Default Value – True from already set False.
   
    
   
   Save the schemas and relaunch the OPPID CE.
      
7. Launch OpenPlant PID CE. 
    
   
   
   
8. Now place the Flange Connection on already placed different types of pipeline
   
   
   .
9. Similarly for Valves go to Inline Valves Schemas and make changes in INHERIT_INRUN_TEMPLATE property like done in last step and again place the Valve on Steam or Existing Pipeline.
