In OpenPlant Modeler, requirement is to map custom property whose data type is double in OpenPlant Modeler Connect.

Background

In OpenPlant Modeler, mapping a custom property whose data type is double doesn’t fetch desired values from spec database. Below wiki article explains how to achieve this in OpenPlant Modeler.

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Launch Bentley Class Editor V8I.
  2. Open Openplant_Catlogue.01.08.ecschema.

  3. Navigate to desired PIPE class.
  4. Switch to Properties pane click on Add New to add a new property. Refer below image.

  5. Add a new property as PIPE_OD_M whose data type is double & enter details as shown below.

  6. Save all the changes.
  7. Open OpenPlant_3D.01.08. ecschema from workset location & supplement with OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_Modeling.01.08. ecschema & OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_ModelingViews.01.08. ecschema.

  8. Navigate to Pipe class, switch to Properties tab.
  9. Create a new property as TEST_PIPE_OD_M whose data type is double. See image below.

  10. For TEST_PIPE_OD property, add OpenPlant_Physical_Catalog_Property_Map custom attribute.
  11. Ensure to change schema location to 01.07 as shown below.

  12. Add desired EC Expression to fetch values from specs.
    EC Expression: PIPE_OD_M*2

  13. Save all the changes & verify result in OpenPlant Modeler.
