Background

In OpenPlant Modeler, requirement is to fetch the information for existing components. By default, Properties are shown for new piping components, it does not fetch the information for existing piping component. Attached below the snap for the same. This wiki article explains the procedure for it.

Steps to Accomplish

1. Launch Bentley Class editor.
2. For the desired workset location, Select OpenPlant3D.01.08 schema & click on Open to load the schema. Supplement the loaded schema with Supplemental schemas.

3.  Navigate the Piping Component Class & select the property tab as shown below.
   
   
       
4.  Click on Add property, create a property PIECE_MARK under the piping component class.
   
   
   
   
5. Add OpenPlant_Physical_Catalogue_Perperty_Map custom attribute on PIECE_MARK property.
6. Ensure to change schema location to Openlant_3D_Supplemental_Modeling.01.07 and click on OK as shown below
   
   
   
   
7.   Under OpenPlant Physical Catalogue Property Map custom attribute, enter property name as PIECE_MARK in property name field as shown below in the picture.
   
   
   
   
8. Save the changes in schema. Load the OpenPlant Modeler.
9. Open Configuration variable dialog box through Search Ribbon option. In the present in main menu search for variable OPM_SPECVALIDATION_ATTRIBUTESTOCHECK. See image below. 
   
   
   
   
10. Double click OPM_SPECVALIDATION_ATTRIBUTESTOCHECK variable, it will prompt Edit Configuration variable.
    
11. Add PIECE_MARK property in New Value & click on OK as shown below.
    
    
    
    
12.  Click on ok in Configuration Variables window. Refer below image
    
    
    
    
13. In the Alert dialog click on yes for the save charges.
    
    
    
    
14. Verify the result.
    
    
         
    Notice that PIECE_MARK value is evoking on exiting component.
