How to apply filters to the Columns of the Output Reports

Background

If you want to generate reports for your projects with the special requirement of filtering out unwanted data based on a column in the report, you can follow this article to learn how to configure the Filter String inside the Report Designer to get the desired results.

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Launch BRCM and Open any Design File.

  2. Select Output Manager from the Output ribbon tab.


  3. Select the Report Template and click Select Resources.

  4. Now, select the required resources, right click and select Request Lock.
  5. The selected resource will be locked.
    Now, select Edit Report Template.


  6. Select the Preview inside the Report Designer to review the report’s data.
    In this article we will configure the filter to filter out the Generic Manufacturer from the output report.


  7. Select the Designer Tab and select the Report Tasks button as shown in the image below:


  8. Select Filter String from all the available settings.


  9. Select the Browse button to configure the Filter String.


  10. FilterString Editor will open where you can create a filter.


  11. To apply the filter to the desired column, select the Data Field from the drop-down menu.
    For example: Manufacturer.


  12. There are many available conditions from which you can choose.
    For example: Does not equal.


  13. Now, enter the value which you do not want to include in the report and click OK.
    For example: Generic.


  14. The configured filter will populate the Filter String field as shown below.


  15. Select the Preview tab and you can see in the below image, that the Generic raceway are not included in the output report.
