In OpenPlant Modeler, how to pick nozzle length from spec database instead of default nozzle length. 

Background

In OpenPlant Modeler, requirement is pick nozzle length from spec database instead of default nozzle length. Currently in OpenPlant Modeler, by default nozzle length picks length as 127 mm that is defined in schema. Refer below image on the same. This wiki article explains how to remove default nozzle length & schema changes that will enable feature to pick nozzle length from spec database.

   

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Launch Bentley Class Editor.


  2. Navigate to below highlighted folder location of your desired workset. Select 01.08.ecschema & click on Open to load this schema.



  3. Supplement the schemas OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_Modelling, OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_Modelling views as shown & 01.07.ecschema. Attached the wiki link which explains how to supplement the schema

  4. Navigate to Nozzle class, click on properties, search for Length property. Once done click on custom attribute Add/ Remove as shown




  5. Remove the custom attribute Default Value as shown



  6. Being on same dialogue, add custom attribute OpenPlant_Physical_Catalogue_Property_Map as shown



  7. Enter the property name which should be fetched from spec as shown



  8. Save all changes.



  9. Verify the results by placing a free from nozzle.
