To Resolve "No component found with initial selection from specs" during Placement of Reducing Pipe Bushing in OpenPlant Modeler CONNECT Edition

Background

In OpenPlant Modeler CE, as per requirement there might be need where  user need to place PIPE_BUSHING or its subclass REDUCING_PIPE_BUSHING mainly. And during placement we get "No component found with initial selection from specs".



This wiki will help to rectify the issue during placement. This warning can be generated into number of case below mentioned is one of the cases.

Steps to Accomplish

1. Check into whether in  EC_CLASSNAME  REDUCING_PIPE_BUSHING   has defined properly as it is case sensitive also into which table it has been inserted like shown in image below. REDUCING_PIPE_BUSHING details has been added into MISC_FIT table.
   
   In this wiki  Example.mdb from Imperial project is taken into consideration.
   Example.mdb Spec can be located in OOTB through below path:
   
   C:\ProgramData\Bentley\OpenPlant CONNECT Edition\Configuration\WorkSpaces\OpenPlantExample\WorkSets\Imperial\Standards\OpenPlant\Specs is provided properly as
   
   
   
     
2. To verify the first EC_CLASS_NAME: REDUCING_PIPE_BUSHING  column has been properly  mentioned into Specs kindly view that class  into OpenPlant_3D.01.08.ecschema.xml  as shown below by loading it into Class Editor:
   
   OpenPlant_3D.01.08.ecschema.xml -Imperial Project
   Path to Locate: C:\ProgramData\Bentley\OpenPlant CONNECT Edition\Configuration\WorkSpaces\OpenPlantExample\WorkSets\Imperial\Standards\OpenPlant\Schemas
   
   And Supplement OpenPlant_3D.01.08.ecschema.xml with OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_ModelingViews.01.08.ecschema.xml OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_Modeling.01.08.ecschema.xml
    
   
    
3. As shown in first step REDUCING_PIPE_BUSHING   is entered into MISC_FIT table in Example.mdb spec.
   So accordingly it has been defined in Custom attribute custom Attribute OpenPlant_Phsyical_Catalogue_Class_MAP and into that defined value for Table as shown below at OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_Modeling.01.08.ecschema.xml schema level.
   
   
   
   If the Table is changed in Example.mdb i.e instead of MISC_FIT instead of REDUCER table in above custom attribute it should be updated if it is not updated then it will also throw the error of "No component found with initial selection from specs".
   
   Note: Mostly changing Table in schemas are not recommended approach the PIPE_BUSHING and its child class should be defined into MISC_FIT table of spec itself as defined in OOTB
   
   
4. Launch OPM CE
   
   
     
5. In OPM  PIPE_BUSH can be placed easily as shown below through its icon given in Reducer→Bush.
   
     
6. And If it is checked how the command is evoking to place PIPE_BUSH then for that icon keyin,” mechaddin place PIPE_BUSHING dsc=piping” is used and hence it is getting placed.
   
   
   
   
   
7. Similarly we can use directly keyin,” mechaddin place REDUCING_PIPE_BUSHING dsc=piping”  to place REDUCING_PIPE_BUSHING .
   
   Hit Enter keyin dialog box will be popped up and enter the above keyin into it and then enter again.
   
   
     
8. After inserting  “mechaddin place REDUCING_PIPE_BUSHING dsc=piping” into Keying dialog box hit Enter and the  dialog box will popped up which will reflect various size and into that desired can be selected.
   After selecting the needed REDUCING_PIPE_BUSHING size hit on Ok.
   
   
   
   And then place  REDUCING_PIPE_BUSHING can be placed as shown below easily.
   
   
      
   
   
    
9. Now as per above steps REDUCER _PIPE_BUSHING has not been defined through icon and for that process you can add  an icon into Reducer Gallery section:

10. And thus REDUCER _PIPE_BUSHING can be placed easily along with option for placing of PIPE_BUSHING as well.
