Problem Description

In Plantsight connected project with OpenPlant PID CONNECT Edition & OpenPlant Modeler, when a miscellaneous equipment Extruder & Scales are placed in the sheet, to place the same in OPM with the same tag, user will need to create a new custom Generic Equipment as there is no standard tool is available for Extruder or Scale. But when the custom Equipment is created for the Extruder, upon browsing the tag, it shows the following error



Hence, we are not able to browse the tags of Extruder from Plantsight in OpenPlant Modeler. This wiki article explains how to browse the same tag.

Steps to Resolve

1. Launch Bentley Class Editor.
   
   
   
   
2. Open the OpenPlant_3D.01.08.ecschema.xml schema. Refer to the attached wiki link to do so.

3. From Classes > Named Item > Device, Right click on the Equipment class & click on derived class as shown
   
   
   
   
4. Create a new derived class as Extruder. Refer the image below
   
   
   
   
5. Similarly, create one more derived class as Scale. Refer the attached image below
   
   
   
   
6. Save the schema.
   
   
7. Please note that we had done the changes locally. Now, these changes should be pushed to Plantsight. To do so, click on Upgrade as shown
   
   
   
   
8. Make sure the upgrade is successful. Click on Finish once done.
   
   
   
   
9. Now, relaunch OpenPlant Modeler.
   
   
10. From Equipment ribbon, click on Consistency Manager as shown
    
    
    
    
11. From Settings, check on the IsPolymorphic option as shown
    
    
    
    
12. Now, create a desired graphics & create a generic equipment as shown
    
    
    
    
13. Once done, click on browse as shown
    
    
    
    Notice that, the tags is now available for both Extruder & Scales.
    
    
14. Results after placement of Tag for Extruder.
    
    
    
    
15. Similar steps can be perform for the placement of Scales as well.
