How to Fix Modified Tag Value Upon Second Sync in OpenPlant PID V8i

    Applies To
    Product(s): OpenPlant PID V8i
    Version(s):

    08.11.12.03  SS10

    Environment:  Windows 7/8.1/10 (64 bit)
    Area:  Synchronization
    Subarea:  Property
Original Author: Neha Chougule, Bentley Product Advantage Group

    Background

In OpenPlant PID V8i, Syncing drawing to database shows tag as modified for second synchronization. However, no modification to drawing has been done, still in Differencing Dialog it shows tag as modified. Refer image below.

In this wiki article, we will discuss the solution for this issue. In general, such issues can be seen when parser is not defined for the property. In this example custom defined property is DESC ALL that doesn’t contain parser.

     Steps to Accomplish

    1. Launch Bentley Class Editor.

    2. Open OpenPlant.01.07.ecschema.xml schema.

    3. Supplement it with OpenPlant_Supplemental_Tagging.01.07.ecschema.xml

Note :- Add missing references of OpenPlant schemas

    4. Expand Classes, Go to Equipment Switch to Properties tab, search for database mapped property. In this case DESC_ALL is the database mapped property.

    5. Notice that Calculated ECProperty specification custom attribute doesn’t contain parser. Refer below image

    6.  Define Parser in Parser regular expression
       Parser: ^(?<DESC_1>.*) (?<DESC_2>.*) (?<DESC_3>.*)

    7. Save all the schema changes.

    8. Reload OpenPlant PID V8i. Place Equipment. Enter properties as desired. Refer image as shown below.

    9. Synchronization the Drawing to Database. Refer images as shown below.

    10. Synchronize to Database again without performing any drawing changes.

Notice that upon second sync, Application is not considering the added property details as modified.
