How to Cascade Associated Item's Value from Associated Class to Fitting Class in OpenPlant PID V8i

    Applies To
    Products(s): OpenPlant PID V8i
    Version(s): 08.11.12.03 (SS10)
    Environment Windows 7/8.1/10 (64 bit)

    Subarea Property
Original Author Neha Chougule, Bentley Product advantage Group

    Background

In OpenPlant PID V8i, The requirement is to cascade the one associated item’s value from Associated Class to Fitting Class. Here the requirement is to cascade the Unit value (Associated item’s value) of pipe run to Reducer’s Run_Prop property.

    Steps To Accomplish

    1. Launch Bentley Class Editor.

    2. Open OpenPlant.PID.01.07.ecschema.xml schema.

    3. Supplement it with OpenPlant_Supplemental_Imperial.01.07.ecschema.xml Schema.

Note:- Add missing references of OpenPlant Schemas

    4. Expand Classes, Go to Pipe Reducer Switch to the Properties tab. Add new Property as Run_Prop.

    5. Add Custom Attributes to this New Property.

    6. Define the Category Name of Property.

    7. Define the ECexpression in Calculated ECproperty Specification.

      ECexpression:
      this.GetRelatedInstance("REDUCER_CONNECTS_TO_SEGMENT:0:PIPING_NETWORK_SEGMENT").UNIT

    8. Save all the schema changes.

    9. Reload OpenPlant PID V8i. Place Pipe Run. Enter a Unit value of pipe run as desired. Refer to images as shown below.

    10. Place Reducer. Check the element information of the reducer. The Unit’s Value of pipe run is cascaded to the Run Prop of Reducer.
