    How to Change the Existing Cell Component Graphics in OpenPlant PID V8i

    Background

    In OpenPlant PID V8i,The requirement is to change or update the existing graphics of the cell component. The following article will show how to achieve the requirement.

    Steps To Accomplish

    1. Launch OpenPlant PID v8i.



    2. Place a Pipeline. Place ball valves on the pipeline.







    3. Select valve and Open Key-in window. You can open key-in by any of the following

      a. Utilities > Key-in


      b. Help > Key-in Browser



      • Enter Key-in – pid component dump and enter. You can find class name, cell name, cell library of selected valve as shown in below images.








      • Open Valves.cel from the mentioned file location.

        C:\ProgramData\Bentley\OpenPlantPID (SS10)\WorkSpace\Projects\OPPID_Metric\Dataset\cell



      • Go Model and open HVALVE_BALL_OPEN (Cell Name of Ball Valve).





      • Go to Annotation, add text to graphics of ball valve in cell library. 









      • click on Save and save settings.



      • Go to dgn file. Open key-in window.



      • Enter key-in – pid component redraw cells. In cell library, we have added the text annotation on ball valve. This change will show on existing ball valves in dgn file.
