Problem Description

In OpenPlant Modeler CONNECT Edition, when any file from a different format (like .IFC) is opened & tried to edit the information ( for e.g material) of any solids assembly, it gives the following warning to that specific component.


The below wiki article explain the steps to edit that information.

Steps to Accomplish

1. Launch OpenPlant Modeler CONNECT Edition.
   
   
2. Create a new dgn file.
   
   
3. From File >  Import > Exchange file types, click on Ifc as shown
   
   
   
   Note: We are taking here IFC as an example. one can take any format available in the list.
   
   
4. The dialogue will open where it will ask the path for ifc file. Give the appropriate path & click on open.
   
   
5. Wait for few seconds & notice that the content in ifc file is now imported in the new dgn file.
   
   
6. Click on the assembly & enter the key-in “drop element”.
   
   
   
   
7. Once the assembly/solids get dropped. Then perform the change material operations.
   
   
   
   One can now be able to edit the material as shown.
   
   
8. After that, group the dropped element to form a single solid again
