Background

In OpenPlant Modeler, the requirement is to show the slope properties in view properties. By default, slope details are not available in the properties section of pipe. This wiki article explains how this can be done.

Steps to Accomplish

1. Launch Bentley Class Editor.
   
   
   
   
2. Open the OpenPlant_3D.01.08.ecschema.xml schema & Supplement it with OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_Modeling.01.08.ecschema.xml. Refer the attached wiki article for the same.

3. From search, search for Pipe class as shown
   
   
   
   
4. Go to Properties & create a new Property as PIPE_SLOPE_RUN
   
   
   
   
5. Add custom attributes Category, Default Value, Format, Hide Property, Property Display status keeping there location at OpePlant_3D.01.08 as shown below
   
   
   
   
6. Edit the fields as shown in the added custom attributes
   
   
   
   
7. Similar to step-4, add another property PIPE_SLOPE_RISE_RUN
   
   
   
   
8. Similar to step- 5, add custom attributes Calculated ECProperty Specification at location "OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_Modeling.01.08" & Category Hide Property, Property Display status keeping their location at OpePlant_3D.01.08 as shown below
   
   
   
   
9. Edit the fields as shown
   
   
   
   Copy the Expression > System.String.Format("{0:0.###}",this.PIPE_SLOPE_RISE) &" : " & this.PIPE_SLOPE_RUN
   
   
10. Similar to step-7, add another property PIPE_SLOPE_RISE
    
    
    
    
11. Similar to step- 5, add custom attributes Calculated ECProperty Specification & Format at location "OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_Modeling.01.08" & Category, Hide Property, Property Display status keeping their location at OpePlant_3D.01.08 as shown below

    Copy the Expression >

13. Similar to step-10, add another property PIPE_SLOPE_PERCENT
    
    
    
    
14. Similar to step- 5, add custom attributes Calculated ECProperty Specification & Format at location "OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_Modeling.01.08" & Category, Hide Property, Property Display status keeping their location at OpePlant_3D.01.08 as shown below
    
    
    
    
15. Edit the fields as shown
    
    
    
    Copy the Expression > 
    TRANSFORMATION_MATRIX.M08/System.Math.sqrt(1-TRANSFORMATION_MATRIX.M08*TRANSFORMATION_MATRIX.M08)*100
    
16. Similar to step-13, add another property PIPE_SLOPE_DEGREE
    
    
    
    
17. Similar to step- 5, add custom attributes Calculated ECProperty Specification & Format at location "OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_Modeling.01.08" & Category, Hide Property, Property Display status keeping their location at OpePlant_3D.01.08 as shown below
    
    
    
18. Edit the fields as shown
    
    
    
    Copy the Expression > 
    System.String.Format("{0:0.###}",System.Math.atan(TRANSFORMATION_MATRIX.M08/System.Math.sqrt(1-TRANSFORMATION_MATRIX.M08*TRANSFORMATION_MATRIX.M08))*180/System.Math.PI)
    
    
19. Save the schemas & Launch OpenPlant Modeler.
    
    
20. Place a pipe with the slope settings as shown
    
    
    
    
21. Notice that, in properties, the details of the slope is now shown
