How to search the Raceways for Failed Automatic Cable Routing using Element ID

Product(s): Bentley Raceway & Cable Management
      Version(s): CONNECT Edition (10.xx.00.xx)
      Environment: N/A
      Area: Cable Management
      Subarea: N/A
      Original Author: Name

    Background

In previous updates, the routing diagnostics result shows the Raceway ID of the raceway section where the cable routing fails. Organizations with a practice to assign same Raceway IDs to different raceway straight parts faced difficulty in identifying the raceway section causing the automatic cable routing failure.

In Bentley Raceway and Cable Management CONNECT Edition Update 10, Element IDs will also be included in the info, as they are unique to every raceway part and users can easily identify the raceways through the Element IDs from the raw data.

You can follow this wiki article to know how you can use this new feature to identify the raceway parts to rectify the cause of cable routing failure.

    Steps to Accomplish

    1. Turn on the Routing Diagnostics inside Cable Manager.

    2. Select the cables and Auto Route the cables.
In the routing diagnostics, you will see the Reason of failure.(Raceway ID [Element ID]).

    3. You can use the Raceway ID to do a normal search inside Explorer.

    4. In case the Raceway IDs are same for many raceway segments, you can use Advanced Search to search for the affected raceway segment with the Element ID.

    5. Inside Advanced Search, search for Elements.
Select Element ID as a condition and enter element Id from the routing diagnostics result.
      Press Ok to continue.

    6. You will see the search results in Explorer, highlighted raceway segment and properties in the Element Properties.
