How to Enable Release Tag Services for PlantSight User

Release Tag service from Engineering Data Manager is disabled for an user. These rights are generally being hold from admin or co-administrator person of the connect project.

Background

The Release Tag service can be enabled from admin or co-admin of a connect project. For a registered project user need to identify the admin or co-admin of the project first. Certain roles needs to be added to user to utilize the release tag service. In this wiki article, we will dive in details to achieve this customization. Release Tag service shows as disabled under Data Manager.

Steps to Accomplish

Load recommended web browser (Google Chrome, Safari or Microsoft Edge) and load https://connect.bentley.com/
From landing page, click on How are you CONNECTED?
This will load a window showing the details of Projects and Administrators. From the list of Administrator, check the name having rights like Admin or Co-administrators.
The Admin or Co-administrator has the rights to enable the services of Release Tag for Engineering Data Manager. The admin or co-admin person needs to follow the rest steps as mentioned.
Load https://connect.bentley.com/ and select the desired connect project.
From Team Members ribbon, click on Manage.
From Manage Project Team Members window, click on Manage Roles. Refer image as shown below
From Enterprise Roles section, click on Project Administrator. From list of services, expand Data Manager and Select All.
Once desired services are selected. Click on Save As...
Define name for Project Role, in this example EDM Admin has been defined. Click on Save. Refer image as shown below.
From Manage Project Team Members, select the desired user name and click on Modify Roles.
From list of Available Roles, search for newly created roles and follow the sequential steps as shown below.
A confirmation window will prompt, click on Submit.
Notice that based on added roles, following roles can be seen for the selected user.
Once roles are defined, Release Tag Service can be seen as enabled for the selected user.
