How to Create a new Role in the Project & Assign it to the User/Client.

Background

Sometimes, in the Live Plantsight project, client wants to see the progress of the project in Plantsight, or let's say for project review. In this case, user ( actual OpenPlant/Planysight user) needs to create a new Role in Plantsight just for the view purpose. There can be more specific permissions for the same.

In this wiki article we will see how to create a new Role in Plantsight.

Steps to Accomplish

Load recommended web browser (Google Chrome, Safari or Microsoft Edge) and load https://connect.bentley.com/
Select the desired project in which new Role to be created.
Once done, from Team Members section > Click on Manage as shown
Click on Manage Roles as shown
Click on New Role as shown
Enter the name for new Role & click on save.
One can also select the template for role from the list.
Notice that, the new Role is added successfully.

The permission once select will be auto saved.
Now, click on Add user to assign role as shown
Enter the desired client's email ID & click on Add button as shown
Once done, click on drop down arrow & select the newly created role to assign & hit add user as shown
Notice that, the new Roles is assigned to the client.
