Background

In OpenPlant Modeler CONNECT Edition Update 10, a new variable has been introduced to control the number value of tagged components. This variable will work for both piping as well as equipment arrangements. In this wiki article, we will explore this variable and check for the expected outcome.

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Load OpenPlant Modeler CONNECT Edition.
  2. Open any model file, search for Configuration Variables and load it. Refer image as shown below.

  3. From Configuration Variables dialog, click on New to include a new variable.

  4. Enter variable name and value as shown below.

    Variable Name: OPM_DO_NOT_CHANGE_NUMBER_PROPERTY_ONCOPY

  5. Click on OK. Click on OK again to Configuration Variables dialog. Click on Yes to Alert dialog.

  6. From OpenPlant Modeler, place couple of tagged components like Valve and Equipment.

  7. Select the desired component/components, right click and from context menu select Copy command.

  8. Paste the copied arrangement to desired space. Inspect the tag name & check for Number value.
  9. Notice that number value remains same for the pasted arrangement as well. No any next available number has been allocated to pasted component/components.
