How to Disable/Remove the Prostructures Tools from OpenPlant Modeler Interface.

Background

In OpenPlant Modeler CONNECT Edition Update 10, the new tools of Prostructures is added. Some of the users claimed that, due to that tools the speed performance of OpenPlant Modeler tools gets slow down & requested that how that tools can be disabled.

By default, in OPM Update-10, the Structural Ribbon can be seen as shown

Till the Previous update of OPM, the same Ribbon can be seen as shown below

This wiki article explains how to disable the Prostructure tools.

Steps to Accomplish

1. Disable Prostructure Tool

  1. From Windows file explorer, open the file OPMPS.cfg file from the below mentioned path

    C:\Program Files\Bentley\OpenPlant CONNECT Edition\OpenPlantModeler\config\appl

  2. Search for the variable PS_ACCESSPSBUTTON & set the value of it to zero ( 0 ) as shown



  3. Save the file & relaunch OpenPlant Modeler.

  4. Notice that the default structural tools can be seen now instead of Prostructure tools



     Thus, this disabling the tools of Prostructure will enhance the speed performance of OpenPlant Modeler. If still issue exist then mentioned  below are the steps to completely remove Prostructure from the desired workset.

2.  Completely remove Prostructure from OPM

  1. From Windows file explorer, Delete OPMPS.cfg file from the below mentioned path

    C:\Program Files\Bentley\OpenPlant CONNECT Edition\OpenPlantModeler\config\appl

  2. Remove complete folder "ProStructures" from the required workset, mentioned below is the location for default location for Imperial workset

    C:\ProgramData\Bentley\OpenPlant CONNECT Edition\Configuration\WorkSpaces\OpenPlantExample\WorkSets\Imperial\Standards
