Background

Nested reference files cannot modify via Level Manager in active file. Levels of nested reference file are greyed out. This wiki article will help to activate the editing option and change the color of nested reference file without performing changes to the master file.

Steps to Accomplish

1. Launch OpenPlant Modeler CONNECT Edition.
   
   
   
   
2. Open a Master file in which a Nested reference file is attached.
3. From Level Manager, expand the file node and select the nested reference. Notice that level are grayed out as shown below.
   
   
   
   
4. To enable the levels for editing, please refer the changes as mentioned.
5. Search Configuration Variable in search ribbon. click on Configuration Variable.
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
6. Search for MS_LEVEL_EDIT_NESTED_ATTACHMENT_LEVELS variable. Click on Edit.
   
   
   
   
7. To activate this configuration Variable, add New value as 1.Click on OK to save setting.
   
   
   
   
8. For changing specific attribute, search for MS_LEVEL_EDIT_ATTRIBUTE LIST.
   
   
   
   
9. Click on Edit and select any attribute in detailed description. Here set new value as ByLevelColor.
   
   
   
   
   
   
10. Click Ok and save all the changes in configuration variable by clicking Yes.
    
    
    
    
    
    
11. Close OpenPlant Modeler and Relaunch.
    
    
12. Open the Drawing and Notice that the levels of referenced file are now editable by color. Make sure to change Symbology to ByLevel.
