Original Author:Neha Chougule,Bentley Product Advantage Group

Background:

In OpenPlant PID, By default when two lines cross a gap is created. In this process you will modify the schema so that the jumper as shown in rectangular box used when two lines cross is an Squiggly line Jumper instead of the default jumper

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Launch Bentley Class Editor V8i .

  2. Load OpenPlant_PID.01.08.ecschema.xml schema.

  3. Supplement it with OpenPlant_PID_Supplemental_Design.01.08.ecschema.xml schema.

  4. Navigate to Pipe Run class and go to Properties. Select SPACING_CLASSNAME property.

Presently it is inherited from BASE_PIPE_RUN from pid.01.08 schemas as highlighted below. So Class Name is Faded or greyed out.

  5. In SPACING_CLASSNAME properties, Navigate to PropertyCustomAttributes custom attribute. Check the Default Value is SPACING_PIPE_RUN.

If it is different then override SPACING_CLASSNAME properties and set Default Value as SPACING_PIPE_RUN.

  6. Navigate to Major Pipeline Class. Right Click on Class Major Pipeline → Custom Attributes→ Add/Remove.

  7. In Applied Custom Attributes → Change the location of Jumper Mapping custom attribute from OpenPlant_PID.01.08 to OpenPlant_PID_Supplemental_Design.01.08 such that the changes in schemas would saved at project level itself.
    Hit on Ok.

  8. In Major Pipeline Class, add value in Jumper Mapping custom attribute as shown below.

Type in  Class Name type - PIPE_END_JUMPER and Priority -1 as shown below.

  9. Save the changes made in major Pipeline and Relaunch the OpenPlant PID CONNECT Edition.

  10. Place a New Major Pipeline on same placed Major pipelines.

As it can be observed  that Squiggly Line jumpers (PIPE_END_JUMPER) are getting placed as shown in below.
