Background

The iModels can be imported to reference the latest changes in other OpenPlant products that can affect the designing.
To import an iModel, use the following procedure.

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Select the iModel Import option from the Equipment & Cable ribbon.

  2. During an i-Model import you are prompted to select a schema. Select the OpenPlantBIM Modeler (OpenPlantBIM 3D Schema) option and click OK

    The Review Differences dialog opens.

  3. The Review Differences dialog is used to review differences between incoming equipment; any equipment that might be already placed in the Bentley Raceway and Cable Management equipment file. This tool comes in very handy when importing an updated i-Model where you can review any changes before importing and choose to either Reject or Accept the changes.

  4. During very first i-model import all equipment will have status value of Added

  5. Click Update. Once the changes are reviewed and accepted the BRCM Info dialog displays. Click OK

    The Equipment Manager dialog opens.

  6. Select Panel (to symbolize electrical connection to equipment in referenced i-model)

  7. Once the Properties of the Panel are defined, select OK.
As a result, in the Bentley Raceway and Cable Management file, the electrical connections will be auto-placed at the defined Electrical Device Offset locations of all OpenPlant equipment with their corresponding equipment IDs previously defined in the OpenPlant application.
