Background

The purpose of this document is to provide instructions on how add custom Annotation Label.

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Open ECAnnotation.cell. Below mentioned is the default location for it.
    C:\ProgramData\Bentley\OpenPlant CONNECT Edition\Configuration\WorkSpaces\OpenPlantExample\WorkSets\Imperial\Standards\OpenPlant\Modeler\Cell

  2. Under Annotate Ribbon Click on Place Text.

  3. Click Insert Favorite and select Manage.

  4. Click on New Favorite > give a new name> select Field Type as OpenPlant and Field Sub Type as Piping Component. Select the property for which annotation label is needed like for example select Line Number > click on Accept > and Save it, close the window.

  5. Now open the Place Text tool again and under insert favorite select the annotation label that was recently created in the earlier steps.

  6. Place that annotation label in the drawing.

  7. Place a Fence around that annotation.

  8. Under cell dropdown click on Define Cell Origin and place the marker at the center of the annotation label.
  9. Go to Cell Library > make sure if ECAnnotation.cell file is open. If it’s not open, then click on file choose ECAnnotation.cell.

  10. Click on Create Cell> Give name & description and click Create. And close the Create cell dialogue.
  11. Remove the fence by searching for Place Fence in the Search toolbar.
  12. As new cell is created delete the annotation text that was placed in the active model.
  13. Now go to Piping and verify if newly created model is visible.
  14. To verify results, relaunch OPM and create a Section Callout. And Place Label using newly created Cell Name.
