How to alter Default Weld Type in OPM

Below wiki article explains how to define default weld type for welds

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Launch Bentley Class Editor,
  2. Open OpenPlant_3D.01.08 ecschema.
    Path: C:\ProgramData\Bentley\OpenPlant CONNECT Edition\Configuration\WorkSpaces\Workspace\WorkSets\Workset\Standards\OpenPlant\Schemas
  3. Supplement with below highlighted schema as shown.



  4. Navigate to Weld Types class under Classes --> Value Map --> Weld Type, switch to Properties tab.
  5. Click on Add... to add a new type of weld type property.



  6. For new weld type enter the details as shown below.





  7. Save all the changes.
  8. Navigate to below mentioned root, open Modeler.cfg to edit.
    Default Path: C:\ProgramData\Bentley\OpenPlant CONNECT Edition\Configuration\WorkSpaces\Workspace\WorkSets\Workset\Standards\OpenPlant\Modeler
  9. Search for variable OPM_DEFAULT_WELD_TYPE as shown below.

  10. Change weld type as WELD_ABC as shown below.
  11. Save all the settings & verify the result as shown below.
