Background
After generating an isometric view, a series of labels pointing to the items on the design are generated automatically. The user might want to move those labels for several reasons, and for that purpose is the Move Label tool.

The process of moving labels on an isometric is simple, however, there are some actions that can trigger an undesirable result. Here are two things to keep in mind:

If the user desires to modify the labels of a 2D file, it will need to be done by modifying them in the 3D file and then using the Republish command, as the 2D file is an offspring the 3D one.

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Right click on the file and select Open with > OpenPlant Isometrics Manager CONNECT Edition. The isometric will open up in OpenPlant Isometric Manager. Isometrics always depict a symbolic representation of the elements on the design and the labels assigned to them. The next picture shows an example. For demonstrating purposes, the two labels highlighted with a red rectangle will be moved:

  1. Click on Isometrics > Tools > Move Label

  1. Data point or left click on the label to be moved.
  2. Move the cursor to the desired location. Notice how the label follows the cursor.
  3. Once the cursor is on the desired location, issue a data point or left click. The label has effectively been moved.
  4. Data Point or left click on another label to repeat the process if necessary.
  5. When finished, issue a reset or right click to step out of the Move Label tool.

Here is the final result of the example:
