Background
The Name and Device Type Code tags, visible on the Properties panel under Tag Information, are set to P# and P by default. It might happen that the user or administrator want to change this default value for their own convention.
Steps to Accomplish
- Open Bentley Class Editor.
- Open OpenPlant_PID.01.08.ecschema schema.
- On the left-hand side menu tree, navigate to OpenPlant PID > Classes > Plant Base Object > Named Item > Pipe Run
- On the Properties tab, look for and select the DEVICE_TYPE_CODE property.
- On the box below, under Property Custom Attributes, find Default Value. Notice that it is set to P.
- Change it for the desired value. Remember to add a blank space character at the end if it is required to separate this value from the automatic enumeration.
- Save the schema.
- Go to OpenPlant PID, create a drawing and place a pipe. Notice, on the Properties panel, how the Name and Device Type Code tags under Tag Information have been modified with the changes made to the schema.
