Background

When the user wants to create an isometric view of a large pipeline, it might happen that the isometric view is not clear enough because of the size of the pipeline, and/or because there are too many elements in it. In this scenario the user has the possibility to split the pipeline into several parts, so for each part the pipeline is split into, an isometric view will be generated, thus increasing the clarity of the drawings.

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Create a pipeline in OpenPlant Modeler.
  2. Go to OpenPlant Modeler > Piping > Piping Galleries > Generic > Note

  3. On the Note Type dropdown list, select Isometric Break Point

  4. Select the pipe segments where the isometric breaks should be placed.
In the example pipeline, two breaks were placed, splitting the pipeline in three different parts. Notice how the locations where the breaks are placed are now marked:
  5. Generate the isometric views from the Pipeline Manager following the usual procedure.
  6. Notice how three isometric views have been generated, instead of just one.
