Overview

To define branch code for desired piping component in OpenPlant Specification Generator.

Problem Description

User wants to define branch code for desired piping components so that he need not to define branch code through Specification Generator. This can be achieved by defining default branch code value to desired component. As an example, below article describes how to define branch code to inspection tee.

Steps to Resolve

  1. Launch Bentley Class Editor & select your desired project.

  2. Open OpenPlant_3D.01.08. ecschema and Supplement with OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_ModelingViews.01.08. ecschema & OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_Modeling.01.08. ecschema.

  3. Navigate to Inspection Tee class, right mouse on inspection tee & select Custom Attributes > Add/Remove to add a custom attribute as shown below.

  4. Search OpenPlant_Physical_Catalogue_BranchCode custom attribute, use drop down arrow to add this custom attribute as shown below.

  5. Enter desired branch code as shown below, here “CM” is used for demonstration.

  6. Save all the settings.

  7. Create a new spec & verify the result as shown below.

Note: Please ensure that your added catalogs for spec creation have the records for Inspection tee.

Notice that INSPECTION_TEE shows branch code as defined
