How to Create a Report with Element ID property OPM CE

Background

To create a report that contains Microstation-based Property such as Element ID, this wiki explains the options to implement this. There are 2 ways that user can create a report, either through Details dialog or Microstation's Report tool.

Steps to Accomplish

A. Details Dialog

  1. Launch OPM
  2. Open Drawing with desired Workspace and workset
  3. In Primary Ribbon, select Details


  4. Select in the Drawing Area and Select All (Ctrl+A). This will list down all the existing components and its respective properties (including Element ID)


  5. Export to a csv file


  6. Save.

B. Microstation Report

  1. Launch OPM
  2. Open Drawing with desired Workspace and workset
  3. Go to Analyze > Reports.


  4. Select Piping Components With Gaskets & Bolts report template.
  5. Make a copy of it & paste it under a new category as shown below.


  6. Select pasted report & from properties tab, click on Item Types as shown below.


  7. Click on Add Related Items, refer image below. Search for Cells and select it. Click Ok once done.


  8. Notice that after addition of Related Item, Item Types can be seen as shown below.



  9. Click on Columns, Right Click & Select Add Columns as shown below.



  10. Select desired columns from added Related Item to report as shown below.
  11. User can then either Preview or Export results.

Note: To re-use the created report, use import and select the DGN where the report was originally created.
