How to Add Component Type to Create Custom Component in OpenPlant Modeler Connect Edition

Problem Description

In Open Plant Modeler sometimes user want to create a custom component under piping and doesn't find correct component type in the list. In this example user doesn't find Flow Element.



In this article shows how to add the component type.



Steps to Resolve

  1. Launch Bentley Class Editor

  2. Open OpenPlant 3D ecschema and Supplement it with Supplemented OpenPlant Modeling and Modeling views.





  3. Navigate to Instrument parent class and go to flow meter class.Copy the Creation Attribute and Paste in Flow Element Class.









  4. In the Flow Element class add custom attribute like custom geometry, component ports etc.



  5. In the Custom Geometry add Group ID and Group name as shown below.Also add the component port type and no. of port .



  6. Save all the changes and launch OpenPlant Modeler and verify the result as shown below.
