Background

OpenPlant Modeler now allow you to apply a SPEC_GROUP_FILTER attribute which lets you group specifications according to the Service selected. This allows you to limit the number of specs to choose from in the Specification list when defining a pipeline using a particular service.

Open the Class Editor (included with the OpenPlant Project Administrator install) and load the OpenPlant3D3D.01.04 schema as shown below:

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Select the Associated Item List for Pipeline node as shown and select the Service property.
  2. Add the "SPEC_GROUP_FILTER" attribute to the Service property and save the changes.
  3. After defining the SPEC_GROUP_FILTER attribute, you need to create new file named SYSTEM.txt (not shipped with default project)in the %Project Folder%\Dataset\Settings directory:
  4. Define the Service groups and assign the desired specifications to them as shown above and save the file.
Note: Note that the groups [Water], [Steam] and [Hydrogen] are defined Services and the Specs listed below them will be the only specs displayed in the Specification list when creating a new pipeline.

For instance, in the Create Pipeline dialog below, with Water defined as the Service, note that the specification list is limited to A1-OPM and B1-OPM, which were defined in the Service.txt file above.

Note: Note that after this customization you will see the limited list of specs in the Standard Preferences for the mapped Services. An option to Browse will still be available however.
