Overview

This document describes the potential reasons for receiving a Validation Error in OpenPlant PID Connect Edition.

Problem Description

In OpenPlant PID, it has been noticed that the validation process stops at every 11% of completion while working with P&ID. This issue seems to occur with every default and customized component, particularly for Nozzles.
The user has found during their investigation that when a vent top is installed on any vessel or tank and then validated, it functions without any issues. But, if a nozzle is added after the vent top in the same tank, the model validation fails.

Below is the error message:

Steps to Resolve

  1. Duplicate the problem within the same design file in the user’s environment. (Note: Identifying the specific component causing the issue is crucial in this case)
  2. Attempt to recreate the problem with a new design file in the customized workset.
  3. Locate the correct schema causing the issue in the user’s customized schema.
  4. Examine the OpenPlant_Supplemental_Tagging.01.08.ecschema.xml in this case.
  5. Resolve the issue by removing the Related Element Scope value from the Require Unique Business Key Attribute from the Nozzle Class (refer to the image below for details).

  6. If the same validation error occurs, inspect the tagging schema and investigate the specific class causing the problem.
  7. If these steps are not helpful, please contact Bentley Global Technical Support.
