To Resolve the FIRSTNAME & LASTNAME Issue by Adding External User in PlantSight Project

Overview

This document describes the potential reasons for getting the FirstName & LastName visible in the Name section whenever adding External User in PlantSight.

Problem Description

In PlantSight, it has been noticed that when an external user is added to the PlantSight Project using their email ID, their FirstName and LastName appear in the Name section, as depicted in the following image.




          

Steps to Resolve

  1. Verify if the external user has the appropriate PlantSight Entitlement.
  2. Has the user registered on the Bentley Portal? If not, they should log into the CONNECT Portal at plantsight.bentley.com/ using the administrator-provided credentials.
  3. Ims.bentley.com will open, prompting a sign-in to the account, which redirects to the organizational account login. Credentials are required in both scenarios.
  4. The user should input their Email and Password, and then click on Sign in as shown in the image below.



  5. In this scenario, the user registers with the Bentley account, and upon adding, the correct name will appear in the Name section.



    Note - If issue still persist then feel free to reach out to Global Technical Support group.
