Overview

In OpenPlant PID Connect Edition we can create dropdown list for the Fail Mode for instrument control valve.

Background

In OpenPlant, PID Connect Edition if user wants to create dropdown list for the properties, then following steps may be helpful.

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Launch Bentley Class Editor,
  2. Open OpenPlant_PID schema and supplement it with OpenPlant_PID_Supplemental_Imperial schema.

  3. Search for Control Valve in Instrument, In FAIL_MODE property select Custom Attribute then select add/remove property
  4. Add StandardValues from available custom attribute to Applied Custom attributes as shown in the following image, then select OK

  5. Now, right click on ValueMap, select Add elements. Add Display string and Value properties in the column. Here, I have added three value map properties for None, Fail and Open. Save the changes in schemas.

         6. Launch OPPID. Place the instrument control valve. In Design Condition property, check for the Fail Mode field.

It will have a drop-down list.

         7. If following steps do not help, then reach out Bentley Global Technical support team with details by logging a case.
