Mapping Plant Project Extended Data Fields to OpenPlant PowerPID

Products: Bentley Project Administrator V8i (SS3) and OpenPlant PowerPID V8i (SS5)

The purpose of this post is to find out if fully mapped equipment datasheets, which store data in the EXTDATAPROP and EXTDATA tables can be mapped to Open Plant PowerPID.

Background:

Fully mapped equipment datasheet templates allow the user to define custom properties from within an EDS cell.

This is an automated process. The user defines the property field name and property field description in an EDS cell in the format {::fieldname::fielddescription}

In Bentley Project Administrator, when the EDS template is loaded, it is scraped and the relevant PROJDATA database tables are automatically populated.

The equipment datasheets created and associated with specific tag instances now store custom properties in the EXTDATAPROP and EXTDATA tables and not in the EQUIP or INSTR tables.
