Hello Good GC Community,
I have a quick question for you guys, so I'm doing some things with OpenRoads, and I want to be able to model a tunnel using an alignment in OpenRoads, the thing is that I want it to be able to update in real time if I change the alignment geometry.
So my question is ¿how can I define a series of point on a curve that belongs to a referenced file?, ¿Is this possible?
Best Regards
Hi Rafael,
please watch this video. It shows a Workflow to generate Points/Coordinate Systems along a Track via a Linestring extracted from a Reference File. So reloading the Reference should update your Alignment.

Hello Karsten,
Thank you for your reply.
The question I have with this method, If I'm doing a range selection, how can I select and specific element when I have more than one in the same range? Do I have to select it specifying the element in the list?
Regards
One of the suggested methods for making the range selection robust is by placing elements on specific levels or otherwise distinguish them by those attributes that are available as filters in the FromElementInRange technique. These are: level names, colors, line weight, line style names. Otherwise, you could try sorting or selection by some geometric property, like a z-value (if you are consistently looking for the lowest, highest, etc.). Otherwise you are limited to the position/index in the list; however, that could change if the elements are edited in their original file which may affect the sequence in which they are in that file, then in turn affecting the sequence in which they will appear in GC.

Volker,
Would it be possible to include a test for Tags or Item Types in the FromElementInRange technique?
That way, the user could simply 'name' the element in the Ref, and avoid the persistence problem.
Hi, I'm beginner of GC and I'd like to see that video, but I can't access it because of the wall.Could you download it and send to my email?
