Hello All,
I am trying to set up an array of foundation slabs along series of points for a project, by using a slab node and choosing the "AtOrigin" placement method.
My issue is that when I am picking the CatalogItem I wish to use, the node breaks and doesn't recognise the CatalogItem. This is the directory it is sending me down: {'Slab',Concrete,'A-Floor-Finish'} (note 'Slab',Composite is also available). I have worked out that these are all of the items in the Catalog Editor that come packaged with the "Slab" ID Tag, so I can access Architectural Slabs ("A"-Floor-Finish) as well as Electrical, Mechanical and Structural Slabs (E,M,S) in this window
This is all well and good, however when I pick a slab that I would like to place and give it an X and Y dimension it says the CatalogItem input port is invalid
What gives?
Also, is there a way to parametrically adjust the depth of a slab?
Thanks guys,
Walter
Hi Walter,
Which version of AECOsim Building Designer are you using and which dataset? I'll check with our defects backlog, whether there is anything known about this. At first glance, the CatalogItem expression is not well-formed. It should be a list of two strings, e.g. {'Slab', 'Concrete'}, or {'Slab', 'Composite'}. In your first example it seems that 'Concrete' lost its quotation marks (single quotes or apostrophes) and the third list item looks like a level name.
Regards,
Volker
Hi, issue fixed now! I used the promote element tool on a slab I created myself and fortunately it showed me the correct path, which is {'Slab', 'A-Slab-Concrete'} (or similar). So yes, you were right! Not sure why it defaulted to the wrong address though.
Anyway, thanks for all the help!

Glad to hear that you found the correct entry into the CatalogItem field. The insertion of this type of incorrect CatalogItem name (e.g. {'Slab',Concrete,'A-Floor-Finish'} ) seems to have been an issue with datasets that include catalog sub-categories. Records indicate that this was fixed in AECOsim CONNECT Edition (with GenerativeComponents) Update 3.
