Schedule in GC

Hi All,

I've got a quick question that could save me a lot of time. Is it possible to automatically generate a schedule (list of quantities of certain parts in the model)? Basically, I want to simply automate the process of clicking Schedules>New Schedule > etc. in AECOSim Building Designer.

Is this possible, or do I have to make my own nodes that churn through, counting volumes and adding them up, etc.?

Thanks,

Walter

  • Hi Walter,

No, we have not implemented automatic schedule generation from GenerativeComponents.

Data reporting from GenerativeComponents would use ExcelRange.Write or DataExporter to generate spreadsheets containing the values.

An alternative workflow would be to create BIM-attributed objects in GenerativeComponents using available CatalogItems from the active dataset, and then reporting them through schedules in AECOsim Building Designer. If those follow similar patterns, schedule templates could be saved so that new reports can be generated quickly.
