Does anyone know if Bentley has a roadmap for releasing Generative Components for Vanilla Microstation? It would useful to have access to it outside of Aecosim, in Microstation Connect or OpenRail.
GenerativeComponents is a companion of OpenBuildings (earlier known as AECOsim). Keeping that in mind, it is safe to say that there would not be any GC without OBD.
I would be disappointed if that's the case.
Autodesk released Dynamo for Civil3d and will for AutoCAD.
I don't see why Bentley cannot make it a Microstation companion rather than an OBD one.
I believe Generative Components will be released with OpenRoads and OpenRail 2020 Edition as an optional install.
GenerativeComponents as of today exists in:
To have it available in these products, during installation, ensure GenerativeComponents is selected in the Companion Features section. This can be done post installation by modifying the installation.
To run the product with GenerativeComponents, an icon with GenerativeComponents will be located within the products area from the Window Start menu.
When using GenerativeComponents with these products, it will receive more GenerativeComponents dedicated attention if you post your questions and discussion in the GenerativeComponents forum.
while GC is now also in the products listed by Stuart, we are investigating the possibility of also delivering it with MicroStation CONNECT Edition in future releases.
