I am having a lot of difficulty trying to create a GC model working from home, the modelling is so slow it becomes very in efficient? I have tried to export my model from project wise but the all my cell paths are not correct and they don't come into the model? does anyone have any suggestions?
Hi Richard,
I hope you are doing fine. If you are working from home, I would suggest you to have a look at this wiki Working from home with OpenBuildings products. Was the model working properly before? Is it happening with all files?
Since you have exported the model, maybe it is unable to locate the cell locally. The cells might be located in PW datasource. You can try changing the cell library from the Nodes or you may also try adding a new cell library directory through variable MS_Cell.

I think I have found what the problem was. I had approx. 675 cells in the GC model, but the cell fine was 90448kb as it had multiple models in it. so I separated the model that I required and it became 194kb. I believe what was happening is that every time it loaded the cells after I modified and did a rebuild of the transactions, it reloaded the cell file of 90448kb 675 times. but after I separated the cell file down to 194kb, the model was a lot faster to work with.
would that make sense at all??
I have another question about cell files in a GC model. Previously in my GC models I have created a cell library file and that worked fine. but in my current GC model I have used dgn file for my cells and the results are a bit haphazard? in that it brings some cells in and not others? So does a cell library file work better?
