Creating multiple section views/clip volume within the alignment

Hi All,

I would like to know if this is possible or has anyone has already done this.

Can I create multiple section/clip volume which is not perpendicular to a curve but rather sits on the alignment itself, like multiple single lines that makes up a curve. Then automatically attach all of the section callouts in proper arrangement on a single model to form an Elevation view i.e of a bridge?

Here's how it should look like (snapshot above), creating an elevation view on a curved alignment is really hard because we can only use clip volumes/section callouts as straight lines although OpenBridge Modeler have the capacity to do a cut along an alignment, it does not have the option to give it a depth so i think this one can be a workaround.

I'm using GC for OBM

Cheers,

Cris

  • Hello Cris,

Are you trying to get something like this? Also you mentioned about the feature of OBM to have the  to cut through alignment, can you please share a video of that. So that we can place that to our development team.

  • Hi Alifur,

The screenshot is not quite clear, what i'm trying to achieve is a profile view of a bridge along a curved alignment.

Here's a video of how OBM cuts through an alignment, we can change the offset of the cut but i think it would be better if we can have the cut through the alignment and then add a forward/back depth to it instead of getting an offset, can we replicate this on GC and have better control?

    Cheers,

    Cris
