I am trying to import excel data into generative components in the form of chainages along my alignment. How can I then connect this up to my CS node to then place an object along these chainages?

Hello Deevan,
Once you get the data of chainage points from excel then place coordinates on that alignment with the help of By DistanceAlongCurve in the coordinate system node. Distance input should be the Excel node.
Once you get the proper coordinate on the alignment then using cell node, you will be able to place Objects along that alignment.
