hello everyone!,
I'm new in GC, and I'm learning from the "GenerativeComponents Essential Training from Bentley institute" and I found a bug in the tutorial.
this one appear in the chapter "Simple Tower", that explain how to use a ExcelRange feature but this feature doesn't exist in the Feature type list. In the help menu, appear the topic "Use of microsoft Excel with Generative Components" but it is in progress.
in the Feature type list there are a feature called DataExporter. but I couldn't export my areas to excel.
therefore, can anyone help me with a clue to continue?
my version of GC is: 08090550
best and thanks in advance.
Carlos de la Barrera.
I have attached both the gct and the xls files. Although there will be no data in the xls file as I was trying to write to it from GC.
Many thanks.
It is 32bit Vista I have on my home computer. We should be having GC installed on our faculty machines over the next couple of weeks. I think they have XP operating system. I will let you know how I get on. I'll try on another Vista machine to make sure it's not just particular to mine.
Thank you.
Matt.
Has this changed in Version 08.11.05.36?
I've gotten two seperate error messages for this.
1. If I try to load from the file location specified above I get : Invalid File / The file must be selected from the standard user assemblies directory for GenerativeComponetsV8i.
2. If I copy that file to my GC_Default/Assemblies folder and try to load it I get: GenerativeComponents V8i Exception / An exception occured while attempting to load that file. An Item with the same key has already been added.
OR
GenerativeComponents V8i Exception / An exception occured while attempting to load that file. Could not load type'Bentley.GenerativeComponents.FeatureUpdateContext' from assembly 'Bentley.GenerativeComponents.Office, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' due to type mismatch.
