    Problem

For some reason I cannot get the Promote Element command to work using GenerativeComponents SELECTseries6.

    Solution

An element cannot be promoted without a baseCS node.  In GenerativeComponents SELECTseries6 a baseCS node is no longer automatically inserted so that it behaves in a similar fashion to other Bentley applications and their collaborative methodology. The concept in SELECTseries6 is that since GenerativeComponents can handle incomplete graphs, this means that a baseCS is not actually required to start a node diagram. Eventually one may realize that they need additional input to actually instantiate geometry if they did not run into the automatic baseCS creation earlier.  While it may sometimes be difficult to discover how to successfully create the CoordinateSystem that is required as input to many node techniques, Bentley Systems is taking the situation into consideration on how to facilitate this discovery without too many false positives, e.g. when one drags a node into the Graph and its default technique requires a CoordinateSystem while the final technique that the user may want to select does not.

Note: One side-effect of this change is that a GC model could entirely be built on nodes using the ByElement technique and not require any CoordinateSystem.AtModelOrigin!
