Were any changes made to ElementSensors in GenerativeComponents SELECTseries6, or were they removed?
Over time ElementSensors were determined to be impractical for a few reasons, one of which was the required (and somewhat obscure) two-step process of first creating the ElementSensor, then having to guess the correct technique that was required to pick up would could be not well-qualified output from the ElementSensor. Therefore, ElementSensors in Ss6 have been replaced with the "ByElement" technique which is available on all geometry nodes in GC.
Because all GC geometry types are essentially based on MicroStation "DGN" geometry types, the ByElement technique immediately surpasses the range of what had been implemented for ElementSensors. For example, it is now possible to: - Place a MicroStation B-spline curve- Place a BSplineCurve node in the Graph- Switch it to ByElement- Activate the input field for ElementPath - Select the MicroStation B-spline curve. Once this selection has been accepted, it is then possible to use the Selection tool to manipulate the MicroStation B-spline curve, which directly manipulates the GC BSplineCurve node's geometry. Notethat the Edit Handle option in the Element Selection tool settings; the top right icon, must be disabled.
Also note that while the ByElement technique works well for elements in the same DGN file, when wanting to convert geometry contained in referenced files, the more robust technique to use is FromElementsInRange.
