Resolving “change rejected in order to preserve integrity” message

    Product(s): GenerativeComponents
    Version(s): N\A
    Environment: N\A
    Area: GC Feature
    Subarea: N\A

    Problem Description

If I create a GenerativeComponents Model and then export to DGN format to use that data within AECOsim Building Designer without GenerativeComponents loaded, I get the message “change rejected in order to preserve integrity”. I cannot seem to do anything with objects created by GenerativeComponents when using AECOsim Building Designer or Microstation tools outside of the GenerativeComponents environment.

    Steps to Resolve

In order to resolve this message you can use the GenerativeComponents "Export" node to export any collection of other nodes, of any geometry type, to a separate DGN file.  The exported DGN file can either be used as a clean reference into AECOsim Building Designer or MicroStation, or edited directly.  Though in the latter scenario the file should be renamed because an update to the GC script will overwrite it.
