As mentioned earlier, before CONNECT Edition Update 2 the Optimizer node supported only minimizing objectives. With CONNECT Edition Update 2, the Objectives input property has been split into MinimizationObjectives and MaximizationObjectives. MinimizationObjectives behave the same as previously Objectives.
The Optimizer will attempt to maximize the values in the list of MaximizationObjectives reported back from the parametric model for each model instance generated. When plotting the results in a scatter plot, maximized results will create a different type of graphic which does not display the Pareto frontier as clearly as expected. Therefore, the "Invert maximization(s)" option has been added to the Optimizer Result window.
The "Invert maximization(s)" option inverts the axes of objectives which are being maximized and scales them logarithmically. This leads to the more familiar look that is expected for Pareto frontiers and makes the exploration of the results more consistent between MinimizationObjectives and MaximizationObjectives.
