The GenerativeComponents CONNECT Edition Update 2 has been made available as Companion Feature to AECOsim Building Designer CONNECT Edition Update 2 (v.10.02.00.35). AECOsim Building Designer CONNECT Edition Update 2 with the GenerativeComponents Companion Feature includes node types for Building Information Modeling. With AECOsim Building Designer, GenerativeComponents is available as update via the CONNECTION Client or as download from the Fulfillment Center. Additional information about these update options are available through the release announcement for AECOsim Building Designer.
With both updates since the first commercial release of GenerativeComponents CONNECT Edition we have continued eliminating defects and we are continuing with that process of increasing the robustness and reliability of GenerativeComponents.
The Optimizer node type separates now MinimizationObjectives and MaximizationObjectives. Previously, "Objectives" were always minimized. The differentiation between those two categories relieves users from the unintuitive task of inverting objectives that they wanted to maximize. Objectives that are maximized, therefore, display now with their proper values, which results in a much improved, intuitive user experience.
In addition, in the results display as scatter plot, the axis displaying a maximization objective can be inverted so that the scatter plot displays a Pareto frontier as expected.
In the Place Geometry ribbon group, Place Arc and Place Circle have been added to the toolset.
Per key commands "gc ellipse place" and "gc ellipticalarc place" tools for placing ellipses and elliptical arcs are also available.
The Place Geometry tools' command prompts have been improved to provide better guidance to users about the expected input sequence.
The GenerativeComponents script Editor dialog preserves its zoom scale setting between sessions. The zoom scale lets users control the display size of the text in the Editor dialog.
